So…this went up about 8 hours ago and I’m mildly concerned…
I might end up planning my own 21st. Y’know, purely for logistics.
But anyway, if any of you guys are gonna be in Brisbane, let me know!

Can’t believe Monday brings up Week 4 already!
Wowwww what a hectic start.
Started off with 4hour lecture blocks; 8am-5pm with a 1hr break. D:
But also partying hard – 5 days in a row last week!

oops forgot to take a photo on Australia Day, so here's K and M from our CNY dinner! worlds collide...
K and M came up to visit. It was lovely. You should all come too :3 /subtlehint.
But yeah, it’s been hectic but a lot less stressful – I’m no longer going for straight HDs, so pressure’s off.
Living in our sharehouse has gone pretty well too so far – my housemates are being lovely about my ability to rage at dishes left in the sink and everything ^^’
As for med itself…. I still don’t know if it’s what I want to do. Anatomy doesn’t fascinate me, I’ve never really enjoyed physiology… but we’ll see.
So far I love the Law lectures the best – the actual law stuffs, not the random history of law lectures. Though I spose ‘actual’ law is pushing it, we get the very watered down, accessible stuff.
We did Duty of Care and Negligence. I’d never heard of Lounds v Woods; I thought doctors weren’t ever (legally) obliged to go rescue passersby in Australia. NSW case, so watch out classmates
But it’s likely Qld would look there too I guess..
A large part of why I’m not whining so much about med.. is because I got my PBL group! It’s mainly grad students – one of them turned 29 this week! They have so much life experience and just a generally more mature outlook on things, for lack of a more eloquent way of phrasing it.
My group includes a physiotherapist, biomedical engineer (and Fulbright Scholar), and a vet. Epic respect for the vet especially – she knows it all already! All the drugs, symptoms, anatomy.. for multiple species.
I’m feeling quite young and underqualified to be in my degree. In our cohort of ~500, there’s around 160 of us in my pathway, with the dual degree of 2 years science and 4 years med. We’re far outweighed by graduate students; some just 1 year older, but many in their late 20s. We’ve got ~100 Canadians and a bunch of Americans too.
Lots of socialising going on !
I also have a wonderful tendency of getting really hot… female lab partners. Sigh. I’m wasted not being a lesbian. xD
What else? I realised, to my self-disgust, that I do feel a little disappointed if a guy doesn’t offer to pay for dinner on a date.
Guess I’ve been spoilt, eh? It’s pathetic – I never thought of myself as some high maintenance girl. But I couldn’t help but be slightly taken aback (since dinner wasn’t exactly expensive anyway).
I’d always offer to go 50/50 on it.. but you know, the gesture is nice, that’s all. I do feel slightly sickened that I’d come to expect it though.
Blergh.
Anyway! The actual point of this blog.. was to ask if anyone wanted to go to Seoul in December this year? I was thinking sometime in mid-December; after Dec 10th because there’s a stretch of time where there aren’t any birthdays or anything and the initial burst of planning hangout time fades. Let me know.
Welcome to my blog :) As the name suggests, this is going to be a place full of random stuff which you may or may not find interesting. I guess it just tries to capture the ups and downs, and all the little things that make me smile - it's those little moments that make life what it is.
