I know I’m not meant to blog here.. but I feel like it.
Think of this as a sneak peek at future entries ^^”
Anyway! Today was our Geography excursion.
I’d always thought Year 12 didn’t get excursions or something.
`sif. I’ve had a fair number, if we’re including Term 4 of last year as well – 2 Hamlets + 1 The Crucible for English, albeit after school.. and Ultimo-Pyrmont last term, and now today’s Darling Harbour excursion today for Geography.
We’ve got a Careers Expo thing coming up as well, if that counts.
Back to the excursion. We were meant to meet up at 9:20am outside the Woolies at Town Hall, so I probably could’ve slept in. But I get a lift if I leave early, so I ended up getting off the train at Town Hall sometime before 8am.
It’s been kinda cold over the last few days (but really sunny, so that makes up for it for me^^), so I decided to wear this woolen coat/jacket thingy that looked warm. But as soon as I stepped outside.. I realised that it was actually full of holes. Well, maybe that’s not the right way to put it. Loose knit?
(I fail at knitting. I’ve tried multiple times and my squares always end up being weird trapeziums)
Heh. Should’ve worn long sleeves under it. But I don’t think I actually own any long sleeve shirts, except for my junior winter uniform. Probably because my mum used to make me wear these horrible skivvies when I was a kid – there was this foul one that might’ve fitted in with The Wiggles.. except I didn’t look half as cool as them in one. Yeah. I loved the Wiggles x)
I also didn’t bother bringing a scarf. Fail.
So.. to kill time, I decided to go scarf hunting! I don’t actually own that many scarves – I have my Eels scarf, some random pale pink cashmere scarf from India, a dark purple scarf that came from David Jones (it was free with something else xD) and… my school scarf. I’m quite attached to the school scarf now – it’s pretty comfortable and I don’t know how I survived other winters without it.
I ramble so much in this.
Anyway. So I went scarf hunting.
I took The Galleries exit from Town Hall station, and found some random accessories store with a box of scarves on sale outside. Sadly.. the scarves kinda reminded me of dead cats.
That’s a horrible comparison. I love cats ><
Blame Jason's slasher movie.
Anyway. I decided to keep looking… so I went for a walk down George St. I went down to about World Square, I think, and went into all these random shops that I never really visited before.
No scarves. I even tried the huge Woolworths opposite Town Hall (I still can't get over the fact that they sell clothes there. I guess I never thought supermarkets sold clothes. ..I'm so not deprived).
Decided to eat second breakfast. Yep, still a LOTR fan. Go Pippin – second breakfast and elevenses are awesome xD
Ended up at Breadtop, and spent a lot of time deciding between the custard bun and the cream cheese one.
Sometimes I think my conscience is a dentist.
Eventually went for the custard. So nice^^
I haven't been eating that much junk food recently, so it won’t kill me, right? x)
Checked SES and a few other places, no scarves. So I walked back through Town Hall (I found a random exit to the station I didn’t know about before :O) and then headed back to The Galleries. I was pretty resigned to buying the foul cat scarf.. but then decided to check the rest of the store. The first scarves I found inside the store were $35. No thanks – I’m usually broke on Fridays. But then I found a whole shelf full of $10 scarves =D
Considered light blue, yellow and red.. but eventually settled on white. I dunno. I just liked it^^
9:00am. 20 minutes to kill, so I went for a walk down George St. Also had a third breakfast on the way – a hash brown. Dang, I do eat too much. I don’t seem to put on weight though.. which annoyed me before because it was the reason I couldn’t donate blood. Now I wouldn’t be able to donate blood anyway, or at least not until my iron levels go up – supposedly my blood’s useless for other people *feels unloved*
I decided to take random photos, because I’ve been camera deprived for a while. My sister and I haven’t been able to find the camera for a while, but this morning my dad found it in this camera bag thing. Awesome =D
Yeah. I like the second picture. I think they turned out ok. I’d muck around with them on Photoshop, but I don’t have Photoshop on my Mac ><'
A random tourist asked me where the post office was. I didn’t know ><
I guess there's a lot I don't know about the CBD, even though I seem to end up going there at least once a month.
But then three other people pointed him in the right direction.. which I thought was pretty nice.
I really like Sydney's CBD. It's nowhere near as crowded as NYC, but it doesn't feel like as empty as Perth. I probably sound like I'm quoting a Geography textbook or some tourism brochure.. but I really like the feel of the city.
More photos I took while I was waiting. I'll be nice to your net and make them thumbnails.
I could catch that home. I never have though – the train’s probably quicker. The new STI ads on buses seem pretty effective. There was one on ‘peeing razorblades’ for chlamydia =.=’
I felt bored while waiting.
Anyway. Met up with Mr McNulty, Shaun and Raymond and then went to the ‘Four Points by Sheraton’ hotel. It’s about 5-10 mins walk from Town Hall; I think it was a walk down Druitt St, then a right turn into Sussex St (at PWC, where some of you might end up working
) and a block and a bit down.
It was a pretty nice looking hotel – supposedly it’s not 5 stars because it doesn’t have a pool or something. But yeah, I’d recommend it to anyone; it’s got great rooms with a nice view. No, I’m actually not on commission. I should be xD
We weren’t just there to be tourists though – it’s our case study for the ‘People and Economic Activity’ unit. I took a bunch of pics there, but I can’t be bothered uploading. Sorry. Maybe after I write my report on it or something.
We finished pretty early, about 11:30am. I actually considered going back to school.. but we have exams coming up, so I might as well relax a bit now, right?
Heh. Maybe I should’ve gone home and studied. Or maybe I shouldn’t be typing this huge blog. Meh.
Anyway! On Shaun’s suggestion, we went and had lunch back at The Galleries. So me, Shaun and Raymond went up to Ichiban Boshi, the restaurant next to Kinokuniya and had ramen =D
Shaun and Raymond had the Tokyo ramen, and I had the miso ramen. They were both pretty fairly priced, $9.50 or so. I decided against the Tokyo ramen because I’m not really a fan of eggs… but it looked so good, I kind of regretted it. But then the miso ramen came, and it looked/smelled awesome. Sorry this picture’s not the greatest; I was looking forward to eating it^^
Argh! My Firefox crashed when I tried to upload the pic. I’ll try again.
It was so yum =D
I almost finished. Almost.
Also had umm.. I think it was a green tea cappuccino? SO NICE. My only complaint would be that the glass was half filled with ice, because it meant there was less of the drink
I’ll consider myself mildly fluent in Jap when I can read this.
No, not the English.

Then we went to Kinokuniya =D
This is for Xining.
Spent a while there, `twas fun.
haha I saw this and felt like I needed to take a photo for the DBSK fans.
Then this random guy (not from the store) came over and told me I wasn’t allowed to take photos inside the store. Oops.
Spent some more time there, then went home.
Procrastinated, then wrote this.
Yup.
Anyway. This blog is still dormant, hopefully. Or maybe I’ll gradually move over here from my Spaces blog.
Good luck with your exams, and I hope you’re using your time more efficiently than me x)

I went with my family to Four Points Sheraton for Seafood Buffet. Was awesome, only 60ish a head since it was on special. Cheap asians =o
And that green tea cappuccino is…err disgusting looking.
Good Luck with your exams diti.
gah no! Now that I think about it, it kinda looks a little funny. And reminds me of the Coogee Bay ice cream thing >=(
But anyway. Thanks. You too =)
Hey, what is your camera?
I don’t know if it’s just me, or if you did anything to them, but I think you camera gets really nice colours. I don’t know. The colours look a lot nicer than the ones in my photos.
By the way scarves are for homos. HAHAH no I just kid.
I haven’t edited my photos at all, apart from cropping two of the restaurant pictures. Maybe I was just lucky with the lighting or something
My camera’s fairly old – 5.0 megapixels, Kodak Easyshare V550. Nothing spectacular or fancy.
Well you may have issues with a supermarket but how about a clothes retailer [David Jones Bondi] selling groceries?
you never really specified how much you ate for breakfast….sooooo, you still eat little in my eyes ^^
xining would kill you if you showed him that pic [make sure you do =D]
don’t move from your live spaces! D: it would mean one more link to go through =.=”
All the best for exams that are coming up! =)
lol, ichiban boshi.
try the tonkatsu there =]
i agree with rex there with the green cappucino. O.o
there’s actually a fair bit of jpop stuff (incl. dbsk) in the carlo village shop, but it’s ridiculously overpriced =( Or I’d buy the whole shop xD
>:O Damn you and your awesome-why-didn’t-you-bring-me-along day in the city… T_T
Ramen looks soooo much better in Japan (probly tastes better too)
And you reminded me that I want another scarf… xD
p.s – for bio we watched a movie on pathogens (yaay) >>
…………..James, you predicted correctly x.x………
Let me backtrack a little…Diti, you sent me an email, specifically directing me to this blog – which was supposedly dormant. Then you make me read the entire blog entry – not that boring, but still long. Then, right before it ends, you make me lose the game as well?
I love you like a sister, but there’s no denying you have an incredibly warped sense of humour. Next time you want to irritate me, find a lucario suit or something…………….( I’m still using those stupid lipstick erasers…they last longer than you’d think)
[...] ordered the same thing as last time. Like last time, it was nice. My ramen-eating skills improved slightly, but I’m still pretty [...]
